Fitting Hoaf Weedair 1002ib - Thermal weed control on to Quad bikes

Quad bikes are frequently used by contractors; fitted with various types of sprayer to treat weeds. We have had many requests for an efficient alternative tool for quad bikes without using chemicals. Meet the new Weedair 1002ib - the latest revolution in weed control. In this case the contractor needed to treat walkways and pavements around housing estates.

The Weedair has isolated burners that heat the air under the fully enclosed stainless steel hood. The hot air reaches approximately 600 degrees, which is plenty of heat to congeal the cells within the leaf and stem of a plant, preventing it from photosynthesising. Over 48-72 hours the plants wilt and die. The Weedair 1002ib has independently activated side burner allows the contractor to weed against walls where needed. These burners also use heated air to kill the plant. Soft verges can be treated more accurately just with the hood.

The weedburner can be fitted to a quad bike using an electric lift mechanism, operated from the seat. This allows easy transport of the equipment between treatment sites.

The Quad bike can be fitted with a rear mounted gas carry frame.

The system uses widely available Propane gas bottles with a vapour take-off.

(Bottles Not Included).

In this particular case, the quads were also fitted with the Ripagreen Autonomy kit, allowing weeds to be spot treated in areas that are hard to reach with the main burner. This uses similar technology, with an efficient hot air system, allowing you to treat weeds around bollards, under benches and other tricky areas.
